Reserve Your Seat: GSN Homeland Security Awards Presentation Dinner

Tuesday, October 27, 2009 * Roosevelt Hotel, New York, NY * 6:30-10:00 PM

The Homeland Security Awards Program was created to honor the dedicated government officials at federal, state and local levels who have created and executed effective security programs across the country, along with leading vendors in IT and physical security who have researched, developed and supplied innovative security solutions during the past year. The winners will be presented their honors at a special awards dinner in New York City on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, in conjunction with the ISC East Exhibition and Conference, and the newly–launched Public Security and Safety Expo, which will be held simultaneously at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City on October 28 and 29, 2009.

Presentation of the Fred V. Morrone Memorial 9/11 Award to Frances Townsend

Frances Townsend

In conjunction with the United States Airport and Seaport Police and the International Association of Airport and Seaport Police - Americas Region, we are also pleased to announce that the Third Annual Fred V. Morrone Memorial 9/11 Award, honoring Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Superintendent Fred V. Morrone, and the other 36 fallen officers in the Towers and all First Responders who gave their lives in the line of duty, will be presented to Ms. Frances Townsend, the former Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism (2004-2008), former Chair of the White House Homeland Security Council and current national security issues contributor to CNN. In addition to accepting the Morrone Award, Ms. Townsend will offer a compelling keynote address to kick off both security conferences. With more than two decades of public service, including being the original first Assistant Commandant for Intelligence of the Coast Guard, Ms. Townsend has worked in law enforcement, intelligence, national security and homeland security; in both civilian and military organizations; in policy and operational jobs; and on domestic and international issues. Most recently as Chair of the Homeland Security Council and one of President George W. Bush’s top advisors, Townsend offers an informed viewpoint on the global issues facing President Barack Obama.

This Award has been previously presented to The Honorable Rudy Giuliani, former Mayor of New York City, and Asa Hutchinson, former Administrator of the DEA and DHS Undersecretary for border and transportation.
